Part of the Green Park Masterplan, this sustainable development consisted of a number of student apartments for Dundalk Institute of Technology. The units extend out onto balconies, giving the feeling of additional space. From here students can enjoy views of the Cooley Peninsula and Dundalk Town. This also gives the building a social element where friends can see each other by simply stepping out onto their balcony. There is an attractive rhythm created that allows the facade to play with shadow and light. The building includes for local photovoltaic power generation, a wood chip fired district heating system and super insulated facades specially developed with Permasteelisa in Italy. The contract was a design build contract.
