Stakeholder Engagement, Public Consultation

At Van Dijk Architects, stakeholder and community engagement is at the heart of how we approach complex projects. We believe that meaningful consultation not only supports the planning process but also ensures that our designs genuinely enhance the communities they serve.

 

We have secured planning permission for Cluid for an apartment scheme on a sensitive site, bordered by an established neighbourhood of two-storey houses. To ensure the proposal integrated seamlessly into its context, we held a series of public consultations, engaging with residents, listening carefully to their concerns, and collaborating with Cluid to refine the scheme. By incorporating this feedback into our revised designs, we were able to strike the right balance between client objectives and community needs.

 

This project, granted planning in 2025, demonstrates how thorough and transparent stakeholder engagement leads to better design outcomes, smoother planning processes, and stronger community support. For us, this is not just a step in the process, it is a core part of our practice and one of the reasons our projects deliver long-term value for clients and communities alike.
