Minister’s visit to Meath County Council
Last month we were involved in a visit by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O’ Brien TD to social housing projects being undertaken by our client Meath County Council. The event commenced with the official opening of Lagore Lawns in Dunshaughlin, where the Minister met with new residents, council officials, Denise Curtis and Edward McKeown of van Dijk Architects, representatives from the main contractor Geda Construction and Minister for Justice Helen McEntee TD was also in attendance.
Later in the day, Denise presented a regeneration scheme we are working on in the heart of Kells town, along Carrick Street and Maudlin Street for Meath County Council. It involves the conservation and restoration of a number of council-acquired derelict dwellings to bring them back into use, with a development of new housing to the backlands of these properties. The project aims to support the Town Centre First policy to create town centres that function as viable, vibrant and attractive locations for people to live, work and visit, while also functioning as the service, social, cultural and recreational hub for the local community.
