Nenagh Primary Care Centre is a state-of-the-art 80,000 square ft. healthcare facility designed to serve the growing community of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Comprising two thoughtfully designed buildings, the development includes a full suite of HSE treatment rooms, GP services, therapy spaces, and a dedicated Tusla outpatients and office facility. With a strong emphasis on high-quality architecture, accessibility, and sustainability, the centre integrates contemporary design with functional, patient-focused environments. Surrounded by landscaped public spaces and easily accessible from the town, the project reflects our commitment to delivering modern, community-centred healthcare infrastructure.

A considered palette of materials was selected to reflect the building’s civic and healthcare function, using charcoal-toned brick, off-white render, and powder-coated aluminium elements to establish a clean, modern aesthetic. Articulation of the façade was achieved through the use of contrasting textures and depths, helping to break down the overall massing and give the building a human scale. Vertical fins and recessed window reveals add rhythm and depth to the elevations, providing both visual interest and functional shading. Key entrances are emphasised with canopies and refined detailing, guiding users intuitively into the building and enhancing wayfinding.

The carefully considered form of the buildings creates a strong sense of arrival, with a welcoming frontage that enhances street presence, while car parking is discreetly positioned around the back, close to key entrances for convenient access without compromising the visual appeal of the site. The form of project features two distinct yet harmoniously arranged buildings that respond sensitively to the surrounding context. Their gently cranked forms creates a welcoming sequence of spaces and allows the architecture to gradually reveal itself upon arrival. The separation of the structures helps to break down the overall scale, promoting a more human-centred environment while allowing for clearly defined entrances, landscaped courtyards, and integrated parking zones. Together, the buildings establish a calm, contemporary presence that supports both functionality and wellbeing.
