The new three storey Advanced Office Building is located near a gateway road junction in Limerick.
Optimising the existing topographical and ecological features, the project is firmly rooted in its position framed by the existing mature trees and undulating site. To ensure a strong sense of wellbeing amongst colleagues and to ensure high levels of productivity within the office, an “L” shaped mass was orientated south to maximise natural daylight, while taking advantage of pleasant views over the existing tree canopies and the landscape beyond. The building lines generate a strong and sharp contrast to the loose mature trees.
The logical organisation of ancillary accommodation at the node and ends of the “L” ensure maximum flexibility with the building. By choosing a regular structural grid, we enabled the design to utilise ribbon windows and optimise floor areas within the open plan offices. The window openings are accentuated by strong contrast between the subtle grey rainscreen and lighter windows. We are delighted to hand the building over to our client and wish them every success with it in the future.
