The concept for the design of the development is to complete an “urban block” which has been partially formed by existing traditional houses and other premises along Vicar Street by developing houses and apartments with traditional forms along the new CAS Road and into the site backing onto the properties on Vicar Street. The lands between this “urban block” and the riverside park have been designed to contain two apartment buildings. One building runs along a North South axis providing a
frontage to the riverside park and forming a new urban space between it and the houses referred to above. The other building runs in an East-West direction forming a street frontage to the new CAS road and similarly enclosing the central urban space which will be the focus for the development. Between these two buildings the urban space and the riverside park are connected by a wide external staircase creating a direct link between the two.
