The N4 Lucan Bypass scheme comprised an online improvement and widening of approximately 7km of the existing dual carriageway. The project included a number of structures including the conversion of the existing at grade signalised Newcastle Junction to a grade separated junction with the mainline lowered to underpass the existing R120 Newcastle Road. Two bridges were also replaced.
