A new addition to the Market Square in Dundalk. This project involved the demolition of a deteriorated commercial unit, which had layed vacant for over ten years. It's size and scale had, over time, become significantly smaller than surrounding buildings and was in a poor state of repair. The north elevation of Market Square had developed into a state of disarray, with buildings of dramatically different heights placed beside each other. We sought to regulate this isuue, by taking formal cues from the streetscape around to generate an appropriate height for the unit. Continuing in a contemporary style, we used bold colours and fine materials to create a distinctive and sleek facade, which aims to enliven Market Square. We believe that this new statement building will encourage and promote further retail trade in our town centre.
